NY Harbor Toastmasters Club 4609 held our annual Humorous Speech and Evaluation Contests on August 25th. The winners were announced at the conclusion of the contest. The winners for our Club Humorous Speech Contest are: First Place -Russell Skop, DTM. The winners for our Club Evaluation Contest are: First Place - John Gentile,ACB, Second Place - Russell Skop, DTM, Third Place - Cynthia Miller. Congratulations to you all. You are all winners and you make us very proud. It was Cynthia's first time competing in a Toastmasters Contest!!!

Anniversaries and New Members

Our Club is proud to announce the one year anniversary of our member Cynthia Miller! She has competed in her first Evaluation Contest on August 25, 2011. She is currently on Speech # 4 towards her Compitent Communicator goal.

We are thrilled to announce that NY Harbor Toastmasters has three new members. Congratulations Leonila Navarro-Mariazeta, Tara D'Alessandro, and Lauren Mulligan. Welcome to the NY Harbor Toastmasters Family!!

TM Officer Training

NY Harbor Toastmasters is very proud of it's Club Officers. All seven Club Officers have attended training for the summer session. Thank you for your hard work and Congratulations! Officer training is very important because it allows the officers to meet officers of other clubs to exchange information, ideas for improvement, and learn about the responsibilities of their new role in the club.

Area 46 Area Speech Contest

Join us for our annual Area 46 Humorous Speech Contest. Please support our winners Russell and John as they compete for another award. Area contests are very challenging and help us reach that next level of confidence and skill. These contests also give members a chance to socialize with other Toastmaster colleagues from other clubs. The location will be posted on www.toastmasters46.org in the near future.

Tribute to

U.S. Armed Forces

NY Harbor Toastmasters is very fortunate to be hosted by the New York Harbor Healthcare System (Veterans Administration-Medical Center in Manhattan). We hold open meetings, however, many of our members are either veterans or employees of the VA Medical Center. We would like to acknowledge how greatful we are to all the men and women in the U.S. armed services, veterans, and their families. We are inspired and honored by your bravery and sacrafices.
